Pokémon GO is an augmented reality game developed by Niantic Labs. The app is available to download for Android and iOS smartphones on Google Play and the Apple App Store. It launched on July 6, 2016 in Australia and New Zealand and July 7, 2016 in the US.
The game encourages players to explore the outdoors and exercise. Players can catch different Pokémon, or pocket monsters, by visiting different locations and using their phone's camera to "see" them in the real world.
